Function

Sensors (reflection) scan the inside of the spool flanges and trigger the reversal of the traversing movement.
As an alternative, light barriers can be used for flange scanning.

Scope of delivery:

  • Uhing® rolling ring traversing system with pneumatic reversal
  • Optical sensors or light barriers with adjustable forward movement
  • PLC for controlling the reversal time
  • Determination of the shaft speed by a reed switch

Connection requirements:

For optical sensors: constant reflection conditions and flange geometries.

Power supply: 85 - 264 V AC
47 - 63 Hz
Pressure: Max. 6 bar

Advantages:

  • Once the system has been set up for a spool type, the points of reversal need not be adjusted after a spool change, and no readjustments are required during winding.
  • Easy to connect
  • Existing Uhing rolling ring drives can be retrofitted
  • Inexpensive

Uhing®-Non-Contact Flange Detecting System - Example of an application:

Step 1: Normal traversing between the flanges.

Step 2: The flange interrupts the light beam, triggering the reversal.
